Apple has begun mass production of its next-generation M5 series chips for key products such as the next-generation Mac and Watch Project X OnlineiPad, according to the Korean media outlet ETNEWS. The M5 lineup includes General, Pro, Max, and Ultra variants, tailored for different performance needs. Manufactured using TSMC’s N3P (3nm) process, the M5 chips reportedly deliver 5% higher computing performance and 5% to 10% better energy efficiency than the M4 series. Apple has also adopted new process technologies to enhance AI performance in the M5 chips. Since January, the packaging process of M5 chips has been assigned to semiconductor packaging partners, including ASE Technology, Amkor, and JCET, the report claimed. [ETNEWS, in Korean]
